Meetings

    Wednesday evenings in the Conference Room, 1st Floor St George's Centre, St George's Road, Ring Road, Middleton, Leeds at 8:00 pm. until approximately 10.00 pm.

Annual Subscriptions

    Full member £20.00

    Unwaged £ 15.00

        Subscriptions are due following the AGM (usually October) and should be paid no later than 31st January


Rules:

Monthly Competitions

    Slides – one section. Maximum entry per member is three slides.

    Monochrome Prints – one section. Maximum entry per member is three prints

    Colour prints – one section, trade or home processed. Maximum entry per member is three prints.

    Entries must be received at the meeting the week before the  competition night.

Sizes for all competitions

    Minimum print size: 7" x 5"

    Maximum mount size: 20" x 16" containing a print up to these limits.

    Any work entered in a monthly competition may not be entered again in a monthly competition and the winners of any annual competition or exhibition may not be entered in the same competition in future years. An image may be entered on one medium only, in a monthly competition (eg a 'projected image' version of an image and a printed version of the same image may not be entered in the same monthly competition)

The Annual Exhibition

    The Exhibition goes on display for at least one week, but usually four weeks, during the summer (see programme for dates). There is no limit to the number of entries a member may submit. The judge will decide upon the top 60 prints (monochrome and colour) and the top 60 slides, and these will be displayed. Entries are divided into sections for both slides and prints : – portrait, pictorial, record and natural history.

The Collins Trophy For the best monochrome print

The Freeman Trophy For the best colour print

The Colour Trophy For the best slide

    A certificate is also awarded to the winner of each section

Annual Awards:

The Ellis Trophy (colour prints)    For the most points gained in monthly competitions during the year

The Monochrome Trophy (monochrome prints)  For the most points gained in monthly competitions during the year

The Atkinson Trophy (slides)   For the most points gained in monthly competitions during the year

The TriAnnual (formerly Quarterly) Trophies   For the most points gained in monthly competitions in each group of three monthly competitions

The Colour Print of the Year Trophy For the best print overall, chosen from those which have gained first, second or third in monthly colour competitions.

The Monochrome Print of the Year Trophy For the best print overall, chosen from those which have gained first, second or third in monthly monochrome competitions.

The Ellis Memorial Trophy*   For the best slide overall, chosen from those which have gained first, second or third in monthly competitions.

The Lightowler Trophy*    For a panel of four monochrome prints, normally on a theme.

The Colour Print Award*         For a panel of four colour prints, normally on a theme. 

The Elsie Freeman Trophy   For the best colour print (home or trade processed) on any subject. Members may enter up to four prints.

The Tony Mitchell Trophy*   For a set of three slides – one portrait, one pictorial and one record.

The Padgett Trophy*    A "handicap" competition open to all members who can submit 3 Images as slides or prints (colour or monochrome).

The President’s Cup.    For photographic achievement during the year.

The Beginners Trophy.    Awarded to the beginner making most progress.

For ease of identification all work should have a title
